I really like this idea, but I would expect a bigger payoff once transformed. Then again, it is uncommon...

Now the use of counters seems superfluous.
Hrm, I thought transforming untapped the card too (so the counter check would keep it from being usable twice in one turn) but I can't find any rulings one way or the other. Further adjusted!
I suggest "remove them all and transform it" so that it does't have to sit with now-meaningless counters all game (in case you draw a Power Conduit or Chisei, Heart of Oceans).
