Ah I didn't think about how i can shut down equipment decks. Maybe just simplify it as "Destroy target equip creature".
I think we can bleed some flash in white but should limit the amount.
My instincts say yes, but it's possible i'm just too attached to the idea of white super heroes. This could easily be blue or green, so it probably should be.
I don't think this is common.
I like this because it is narrow. Only the equipment deck will want it, so it can be picked up late in draft. Not married to it, but I don't think it's too good as it really only goes in one deck.
It feels kind of weird to have an equipment with a sacrifice effect when most decks just want to have equipment.
As I suggested on some other cards, this could become a combat damage trigger.
This is more of a test for equip triggers that don't break when they go infinite. The reason this creature shouldn't just get lifelink IMO is because I think passive lifelink is just backbreaking on this thing if it ever attacks equipped more than once.
I designed this specifically as an improved Artificer's Hex, which I hate. This card works more like a normal removal spell, which means players will understand it easier. Hex is an aura, is slow (doesn't kill until your next upkeep), and sticks around, which is probably bad in this format since IMO we don't want black to easily turn off equipment decks. (The loss of one early creature is already bad enough, let alone also shutting down the equipment itself.)
This effect just seems wonky. I'm fine with having one of my creatures take the hit for another, but why does it also cost me a card (the aura itself)?
I guess the question is; is this really easier to abuse with equipment than Typhoid Rats?
The fact you get stuck on non-artifacts was my way of making it non-abusable. I guess you could theoretically have an all artifact deck, but this guy isn't an artifact so that's at least one hiccup.
I think i'd want someone to give an example of how this gets realistically abused before I'd red-flag it. It is not dangerous in limited IMO.
Perhaps this should be kite-sail enabled combat damage trigger instead.
Alternatively it could be "When equipped creature deals combat damage, untap it." This pulls off the same pseudo vigilance without untapping the whole team.
Colored equip costs are not necessary, but i prefer them to colored equipment if it ever comes to it. The main reason I like them is that it allows us to have control over where these show up, otherwise the strongest equipment might just get picked away from the equipment player.
Changed from green to red, added reminder text.
I'm fine with moving it to red.
As a common I'd probably want reminder text about it fighting itself.
You would get it a lot more with more sacrifice outlets. This is why we had that discussion, because if sacrifice is going to be a theme in black, then we need to consciously add it in, in which case I like this card a lot.
Not saying it can't be but how is this card black? Only other card that doesn't like to be equipped is Goblin Brawler and in general this feels more green.
Maybe branch this out a little and let it effect all artifacts?
This version seems more fair; "Whenever White Cape becomes attached to a creature for the first time this turn, untap that creature." Once more not a fan of colored equip costs on colorless equipment.
Is white gonna get slightly more Flash?
Seems a little too strong for CMC 1 to me.
I like this slightly better then the flamekin version, we only have so many slots for suit up and we should have a few cards like this to work in equipment decks without having suit up.
It's technically a Deadpool Meat Suit reference, which admittedly was absurd even for comics.
I'm sure we can flavour it as regenerative sci-fi armour.
Only problem I have is unless we keep the gaga reference I don't really know how to flavor this.
Does way too much and should have a equip cost
