Treat Yourself + Silly + Huh, how could that actually work?
And, well, basically it ends up being "Platinum Angel but hey, flashback-direct-damage still works"

Well, Nature's Assault?
Maro's podcast is currently doing long "The colours in their own words" spiels.
It's... pretty terrible, actually.
Alex complained that 'copy a spell' was boring and not mad-science-invention enough.
So... this.
(Flavour text is, obviously, from the age-old rhyme/taunt: "Hey! / You! / Over there! / What's it like to have no hair? / Is it good? / Or is it bad? / Or is it like / a Brillo pad?")
Vitenka: [17:18] mtg is gonna start to need inventing words soon
AlexChurchill: [17:19] Not exactly soon, but they are aware dictionary words are a limited resource to be only cautiously depleted
Edwin: [17:25] Eventually they'll have to stop wasting words like "Hyalopterous" and go for the more obscure stuff
I was thinking of where to reference this article on this site, but here is as good a place as any:
>
: "So, do I ever re-evaluate my life choices? Never, because I know what I'm doing is a righteous cause."
White villains explained.
Oh, cool, another article from the colours! I love those.

It just wanted to be a rock star! (Not actually the right meme in this case, but a good one.)
It's the purple people eater
Now, to be properly pedantic about a 50 year old meme, it ate purple people; it was not itself purple
I don't know the reference, but
is purple definitely - or more specifically
is since it lies between those two colors in the color pie. You might notice that many
cards, especially those featuring generic death magic, feature a very purplish color palette. Ie. When Liliana powers up or whatever. Liliana's Indignation for example.
Silly old reference came back. Could not resist.
is purple right?
From an overheard hymmbug.
Yeah; but one solitary card that you probably don't even see isn't really a thing.
While I'm hammerring the joke to a fine paste - cardname should be the artists new job title :)
Actually, Steamflogger Boss means it does matter what assembles a Contraption. In a very real way that's also a space that probably should have explored more to drive the point home (possibly by having two tribes that compete about assembling your Contraptions or at least cards that benefit you for assembling the Contraption with a spell).
That... really isn't the joke of this card.
The joke/rant of the card is that the thing assembling the contraption matters not one jot. And that a contraption isn't a collection of odd bits; it's a collection of full fledge machines.
the a/any was just deliberate misunderstanding for comedic value. And now the joke is fully stomped out of existence.
