True. Can't avoid a nontoken clause I guess. I wanted to go for a card hating on Imposing Sovereign effects.
That's my kind of trigger! :D Reminds me of Amulet of Vigor, but a much more interesting reward.
Quite an easy infinite combo with Orb of Dreams / Due Respect, though.
Not sure if worth a cost reduction...
@Alex Actually it's more of a colorshifted Flashfreeze, but unlike the other spells in the cycle, it had nothing to justify the
aspect, and it's HARD to work in a
(hybrid) thing in a counterspell! My only other options I can see are "damage to flying" and "uncounterable"...
Like Mana Drain or Plasm Capture. Makes sense.
A renaming would fix the flavour though - picture it as sucking a spell in so that you can use its mana yourself.
Ooh, so now it's a Manamorphose (without cantrip) as well as a tweak on Gainsay?
A bit wacky, but seems somewhat disconnected, a bit "hot glue gun" as Maro puts it.
I'd suggest that this say "up to one target spell" so that you can use it as just a manawash if you want to.
add a little extra to justify the extra color.
So I did~
You forgot UEOT.
reorder cost
Yeah, like the Future-shifted cards. The colored mana would be at the top. I agree about how this just looks wrong. He's never even mentioned some of those ideas.
He also wants it down the left side of the frame, right? That wouldn't be so bad, I guess. It makes me very uncomfortable to see the order reversed with the symbols in their current position, though. It just looks ugly and wrong.
I like several of his "revised magic" ideas, like different frames for different card types, greater differentiation between artifacts and enchantments, and Instant being a supertype (though I would call it something else, like Flash, because Instant Creature? Ugh. Sounds like Instant Ramen). I feel like giving each generic mana component its own pip is a bad idea, though, since the mind has difficulty quickly and easily counting groups of things.
Did you read Maro's article today? Apparently he prefers it this way.
I thought Vitenka was the one with the habit of putting all of his costs backward.
Didn't fit into the cycle idea, but the spell is a good idea still.
Forgot to rename. Was ""Fig Up Bones
