Hmm, this and Baron's Emissary are both 1/1 for 4 that you don't want to get into combat with. Seems too close.
This particular form of Backstab is very close to Flanking: too close?
Moved down to common, because uncommon black creature slots are very scarce: does this seem horribly out of place as a common?
My intuition's not good for this. White does get 2W 2/2 flying with upside, and creatures do get "C, sac: destroy target artifact or enchantment" as upside, but I agree you'd probably normally be happy to play as many as you can get in white, which is perhaps a bit harsh on artifacts and enchantments in a set with many artifacts. But then, white clearly does get good answers. My intuition says it's at the top of the curve, and printable, but probably better if not quite as all-upside.
Bumped up the cost a bit. Worried that this might be too good for common: Vulshok Morningstar was moved from common to uncommon. On the other hand, Horned Helm was common too, and that one wasn't famously crazy like the Morningstar was.
Nah, not really. He's not a Demon, and a 4/4 for 5 isn't undercosted.
Yeah, that's what I was thinking. He looks around, scowls a lot, and gets on with beating up the opponent. Do you think it should do something in the "if you can't" case?
I'm considering moving this and Swiftstab Highwayman from black to red, and introducing some black Backstab cards in their place with more in-pie triggered effects. What do people think?
"Go get those Kilrathi!"
Is there an "if you don't", or are you happy with him being a 4/4 vanilla for 5 if everyone else is posher?
