Looking back at this now this seems really strong. And not really common (cf Azure Mage, Treasure Trove).
I note that the set's current cardlist doesn't include any other common lands. So this will be likely stuck producing for most games. Over on Challenge # 110 the idea came up of a cycle of lands that transform into Auras, which is a nice way to play extra lands without risking mana flood. (You could do the same with lands that transform into vanilla/French-vanilla creatures actually.) One of those cycles could be common.
This will die before it's copying ability can trigger unless you change the wording, as per Alex's suggestion.
I don't think that's a good idea. Assuming the idea is that during the resolution of Reversal of Fate, it might transform into Falsify and then evaluate Falsify's text: then Falsify would never be checked for legality of targets, and it might well resolve even though its target doesn't meet its current targeting condition.
The back side needs to say "Counter target spell that targets a double-faced object."
Anything works with a Comprehensive Rules amendment. :3
I should say that I absolutely love this in set. Fairly simple concept on the light side, but such a range of things it'll do when every single creature card is double-faced.
Might want the reminder text from Interception.
Or in fact, I'm not completely convinced this works at all. Is the idea that when the light side here starts resolving, it processes the text from the light side, does it, and then if that transformed this spell, it then processes the text from the dark side? I'm not sure that works.
Feels to me that his types ought to be Human Advisor for the first side and Human Soldier for the second.
Hm. Mostly useful on your own Elbrus, the Binding Blade or Ludevic's Test Subject. Will do mad, mad things in-set, and should perhaps cost more for this reason. I'm reminded of how Fold Into Aether cost way more than the then-standard Counterspell despite being worse on opponents' spells.
Based on my Idol of Bokrug, more cleanly implemented on a DFC. As per M_Houlding's comment on Bokrug, I increased this one's power a bit as well.
Edit: Idol of Bokrug wasn't originally a DFC. It used to be a conditional creature, like Rusted Relic or Warden of the Wall.

Very good flavour.
This is pretty funny. Think this will be underpowered in limited, maybe good enough to make in standard in a heavy 1 drop deck with Delver of Secrets, Gitaxian Probe and Ponder.
Oh, hey, I read that first line as "Whenever ~ deals damage to a creature..." Okay, that makes more sense. That being said, I know where MaRo is coming from when he says that "Nobody every attacked into this guy so that you could get the cool effect to go off", but that isn't exactly this. I think many players would be happy to see their opponents not attack with their giant creature because a silly little phantasm is in the way. Many times, even, you won't have a targeting spell in your hands to back this up, and your opponent will still refuse to attack/block. That has the potential to make you happy, not sad.
That being said, I think both versions are rather legit.
MaRo's discussion on Soul Seizer, the inspiration for this card: "The earliest version of this card required the creature to get into combat with the creature it took control of as we were trying to match the flavor as close as possible. What we found, though, was that the opponent just didn't block with anything you wanted to steal. Also, because it flew for flavor reasons, it was much harder to get things to block it. Defensively, it kept the opponent from attacking, which never leads to a good game state." http://www.wizards.com/magic/magazine/article.aspx?x=mtg/daily/mm/177
I rather dig this card. I am a bit confused as to why the phantasm is enchanting any creature, however, instead of the creature it dealt combat damage to...
True there is no interaction at the moment, I may have been thinking about cards on multiverse that can give things morph and it is a design space that could be looked at in the future so maybe I should have said "potential interaction with Morph in the future" sorry
They don't interact with morph. What's the issue? It's like trying to transform a normal card: nothing happens.
yeah lose the repeatable & drop the cost to andd you have a cool common that I'd happily run in my blue deck. Kudos
(and if may say, I was concerned about DFCs at first but there is a LOT of design space they open up. The only major issue I see with them at the moment is interacting with morph/face down)
Awesome! Turn something into a phantasm! Possibly being repeatable is a bit too good for common; the card would be playable without the repetition. It's a much more interesting card with the repetition, but rather less suitable for common, I fear.
