I note that the set's current cardlist doesn't include any other common lands. So this will be likely stuck producing {1} for most games. Over on Challenge # 110 the idea came up of a cycle of lands that transform into Auras, which is a nice way to play extra lands without risking mana flood. (You could do the same with lands that transform into vanilla/French-vanilla creatures actually.) One of those cycles could be common.
