Since the text is so small on the card, I'll rewrite it here
When a new account attempts to create a new cardset for the first time, the page loads differently with a dialogue that helps the user understand where they can upload cards. "Welcome! If you just want to create a test card or two, visit the Testing cardset and click Create card. If you have an idea for a card or two but not a whole cardset, Cards With No Home is the place for them; unless they're silly enough to go in Silver-Bordered or Joke Cards.
If you are planning to create a full cardset under development, then click here to fill in its details: Create new cardset"
However, the "Create new cardset" option on this page is bugged so that it just loops back to the same page without changing anything
The issue lies in the javascript, where the code for the link is < a onclick="$('whole_cardset_form').show();" href="#">Create new cardset< ./a>
which contains an error. The portion ('whole_cardset_form') should not have those ' around the name, [it should just be (whole_cardset_form)], which I believe is making the page misidentify what to display. Removing those and then clicking the link makes the cardset creation from display as intended.
After the first set has been created, the "new user" dialogue doesn't ever show up and the form is automatically displayed, so any user that created their account before this "new user" display was implemented will have never encountered this bug. However, for new users it seems to mean they can't make a cardset until they manually work around this by fiddling with the cardset creation page's javascript in a browser's debug mode (e.g. f12 with Microsoft Edge) and remove those ' that are causing the issue.
Oh yes. I think I found those JS bugs earlier and they slipped off my list. Sorry.
Also Visual Spoiler needs Fix.
See Lingering Bugs from Update.
EDIT: Problem applies to Cardlist as well, probably same bug.
I got confused. Cache clearing menu options didn't work for me. Maybe I needed to restart the browser but I didn't think of that.
Ctrl-F5 (chrome desktop) fixed it.
I wonder, is it worth making an announcement "fixes continue, try refreshing if you're getting stale recent updates" in case anyone else is still having the problem (but might not see this post)?
Yep, this seems to be fixed now. Not entirely sure what changed around this code though.
Maybe this is was prevented my adding a specific card before, but it works now; card 125409 is the one I now added. I didn't used to work before, but now I did manage to add that card, so now it does work. (In that case, the card has the "world" supertype.)
Yep, clearing cache worked. That's under your browser's history menu
That said, the recent changes page doesn't update at all on mobile. There's still something funky with the cache
I think that's a problem I encountered, too, that has something to do with your cache. Hard reloading the page after Alex did some initial fixes solved the issue for me.
I don't know how to force a hard reload on mobile though.
For some reason, the recent changes page doesn't show me as logged in. That's not a super big deal, since it then shows me as logged in when I click on any card to view
The lack of stripes on that page is particularly bothersome on mobile, which is a shame, since that's my phone browser's homepage
Alex, thanks for all the hard work and love you put into this site. I know I'm not around so much recently/anymore, but I really appreciate everything you do for us.
Thanks, Sorrow! That was a particularly silly bug. I don't actually know why it wasn't showing up before the upgrade. Anyway, I tracked that one down and fixed it. Still planning on fixing all the things I mention above.
The commons sections of a skeleton will not appear in a functional manner. Example
It's back up! Gosh, thank you, well done getting all that updated!!
Additional lingering issue (probably): Searches don't work properly. I tried to search this set (rules text and coomments). Neither search worked.
IIRC there once was a bug once where typing a pre-defined supertype (e. g. legendary, but also basic) into the type box would mess with card creation. You HAD to put it into the supertype box.
A simple test showed that I couldn't replicate that one anymore.
fixed as part of the move to jQuery
I think this is now fixed too
clarify the actual bug here
fixed as part of the move to jQuery
looks like there were a few duplicate reports of this issue! fixed now.
fixed this some time ago
fixed this by getting rid of the loading gif...
image is gone, no repro steps, not much description: I'm treating this as fixed
mostly-fixed
I fixed the issue with preview changes losing the second half multipart cards! It was about two characters in the wrong place :)
The editing boxes for flip cards work for me on Chrome, but their positions are pretty dodgily located; I'm not that surprised they go wrong on an old Firefox.
But yes, you're right, if anyone wanted to make a flip card with mana costs
and
but halves actually coloured black and white, they couldn't do it. Well, they could, actually, but they'd have to use the double-faced card form to do it, and then switch to the flip form after setting those nonstandard frames.
I'm... inclined to treat this as mostly fixed? There is still an edge case that's not easy to do since you can't use the flip card form to do it, so I'll leave half of this red, but the bottom half :)
