Wow. Yes indeed. With a nice "now and later" template.
I note that when used on instants of cost 2-3, as Snapcaster often was, this is pretty much always better. Even more card advantage! You do of course need an extra colour. This is less good if you have precisely 3 mana and want to use a 1-cost instant, or if you want to reuse something bigger like a Supreme Verdict.
Certainly tournament-level, but probably not tooo much better than Snapcaster Mage...
Hm. Save a mana from this turn to text. Reminiscent of Chromatic Sphere / Chromatic Star, but acceleration rather than colour-fixing. Looks innocuous enough...
(Templating would probably update this to use Chromatic Star's card-draw template rather than Chromatic Sphere's, because drawing a card as part of a mana ability has rules subtleties that can be problematic or confusing.)
Yeah, I think I've seen that on Multiverse. Can't remember where though.
Changed rarity and added flavor text.
I think I might change this to "{iU} can be paid with
you've already spent this turn", and let the comp rules handle the weirdness. I really do feel like I've seen that somewhere before, though.
Removed superfluous colors and abilities.
Apparently. I don't actually remember making this, or why.
Improving a bit on Mourning Thrull? And Nip Gwyllion for that matter. White can get assorted things better than Suntail Hawk, but black's never had a Flying Men before?
More playable mana cost.
Was it someone on Multiverse who invented inverted mana that was "paid" by mana you'd already spent that turn?
I wish this didn't make it possible to produce
{iU} on turn one.
Reminder text something like "(To pay {iU}, untap a permanent that could tap to add
.)"?
Fun idea. I thought
would be broken too, but it wasn't, really. Though my Puresight Merrow-Hermetic Study deck won a lot and annoyed people a lot.
Two islands?
I am aware of how broken this would be, by the way. Just thought I'd toss it out there anyway.
Huh. That's an interesting mana concept. Though probably would be templated as "Untap two Islands" for simplicity. Just as dangerous too, if even a few of these cards exist games will be very VERY short.
{iW}, {iU}, {iB}, {iR}, and {iG} are the inverse mana symbols. Similar to
, they represent untapping a resource that could produce that mana. To pay {iW}, one could untap a Plains, a Glacial Fortress, or a Birds of Paradise.
The inverse mana symbols are black circles with colored symbols.
