Huh. Draw 6 cards of the top 12, but not the 6 best ones. Lots of decisions to make.

Huh. Yeah, interesting. A much bigger fact-or-fiction.

Is it supposed to be two piles? Is there a reason they have to be equal?

there's a reason 12 is used.

For those not following: amuseum is allowing the caster to separate cards into two piles of six, three piles of four, four piles of three, six piles of two, or twelve piles of one. After separating the piles, players go back and forth choosing piles.

Admittedly, there seems to be some good ideas for piles, and some bad ideas. Twelve piles of one seems ideal for most situations. You just end up with the 2nd, 4th, 6th, 8th, 10th, and 12th best card. But you also get to read what your opponent is thinking. Two piles of six are also good if you don't want to give your opponent any additional information.

Three piles of four, however, seems like it would always be a horrible choice since you lose eight cards. The only reason I could see someone do that is if you had a four card combo, and you were doing everything in your power to force it.

Or if you had a graveyard combo :)

Right. If you're playing dredge and just cast an 8 cost spell, then three piles of four are for you. :D

Or if you're really playing dredge, one pile of twelve.

Wait, does that count as "separating them into equal piles"?

Or half a pile of twenty-four :)

Ignore me being stupid. And suggest no piles of "whoops"
