Direct damage isn't really black's thing. Maybe "Target creature gets -X/-X UEOT, where X is this creature's power."?

Also, I liked the old name better. This sounds like it should grant fear or something.

It's a Drain Life. Black does get that. Repeatably... not so much.

Yeah, black does get damage as long as it's tied to lifegain or similar (there's a long tradition of "burn" spells in black: Vicious Hunger, Douse in Gloom, Ribbons of Night, etc etc).

Getting it repeatedly is... just about plausible, but most definitely needs to be rare.
