Yiikes. Wow. This does a lot. Supercharges Soulless One. Sets you up to unearth Anathemancer or Corpse Connoisseur or Fatestitcher or any other unearth card. Or cast Haakon, Stromgald Scourge or Scourge of Nel Toth or Skaab Ruinator. Or get back Ghastly Remains or Pyre Zombie or Tymaret, the Murder King or Veilborn Ghoul. Or reanimate Ashen Ghoul or Advanced Stitchwing or Boneyard Scourge or Dread Wanderer or Gravecrawler or Haunted Dead or Necrosavant or Stitchwing Skaab. Sets you up for Bladewing's Thrall or Deadhead or Prized Amalgam to come back all by itself. Sets you up to scavenge Dreg Mangler or Sewer Shambler or Slitherhead or Terrus Worm. Sets up Vengeful Pharaoh or Undead Servant to do its thing.
Now I'll grant you it's less restrictive than Buried Alive. But it's so strong to get "any number of". I wonder if this should say "up to three" or "up to five". Even that would be extremely powerful in the right deck, without also instantly making Ghoultree cost 1 mana and Soulless One/Zombie Mob/Unbreathing Horde/Sutured Ghoul/Liliana's Elite/Jarad, Golgari Lich Lord/Drakestown Forgotten/Diregraf Colossus a 20/20.
Very valid points. 😅
I was just going for the "wow" factor at first but it would be more sensible to put a number to the search.
I dunno. That really loses the wow factor.
Go big? Put your entire library into your graveyard; and have a second ability that stops you losing from being unable to draw a card.
I'd make it a rare/mythic and turn the knobs on this until its just good enough to make you want to try all those combos mentioned above, but doesn't break them.
The design is sound. It just needs plenty of development. It is already a six mana virtual vanilla unless you use it to synergize with something. The question is how good that deck is if it has to start out getting a six mana creature onto the field to really go off?
