"Baby". I was thinking what types could go with animal species, where 'classes' don't make sense. I couldn't think of maybe, but "cub" was one. After a lot of hesitation I switched to "baby" which is slightly more generic. There's a problem with english which has so many different words for this, when it would be nicer if there was a single one.
