I want a word slightly better than Exotica -- I considered antiquity, or relic, or precious something, but nothing quite fit.
The idea is, there's a mechanic where "cards with CMC 6 or greater" represent precious items, since they're harder to have in your deck, and you can get a biggish effect by discarding one of them.
I like the idea. But I can see a lot of Timmies tearing their hair out at the prospect of discarding their Argentum Armor to make a 2/2 a 4/4.
Hmm... maybe shuffle the card in your library then draw a card (with an activation cost so you can't easily go infinite)? That way the card rewards playing with a lot of expensive cards, and lends a hand to those decks as well, instead of being at odds with itself.
Yeah, maybe. cycling could make sense, but makes it less of a cost and more of a benefit to spikes... Shuffling in would make Timmy/Tammy happy, but take more effort.
Maybe add a mana cost and make a bigger effect -- I'd originally intended this to be a lot more splashy which might make Tammy/Timmy more ok with it. I'd hoped it might get Tammy/Timmy used to the idea that they were never going to play that 6-cost spell :)
Ha! The very nature of Tim-Tam is unreasonable optimism. Trying to train an archetype may prove challenging. ;)
I mean, yes, T will never and should never go away, but individual T can become more experienced: the upside of this is that you can have A WHOLE DECK FILLED WITH EXPENSIVE SPELLS! :)
