Created for Challenge #127. I thought of a Planeswalker-into-Aura transition, and was reminded of Soul Seizer. That made me think of Ashiok. The tricky bit was coming up with a text box for the reverse side that's long enough that it merits using a DFC rather than just an extra sentence in the effect putting the card onto the battlefield. Turning anything into a Mindleech Mass seemed like a nifty option.
middle ability cost from [-1] to [0] by comparison with Honden of Night's Reach
Oh yes, interesting!
Good things to hit with this: Pestilence (or Pestilence Demon). Bad things: Not much, really. Sorrow's Path?
The first card I actually thought was Rod of Ruin, because there's never enough punishment someone who plays Rod of Ruin should receive. Also, was the name a reference to how Ashiok was conceived as a "dark Jace"?
