This one seems to break the cycle pretty badly - it's a one-off effect in both modes. (And a scarily good one.)

I tried to make it unearth-style reanimation, but it was too wordy. You're right, this is a bit too powerful. Back to the drawing board.

It could just cost a bit more; but then that'd stretch the cycle too.

Maybe give a creature -1/-1?
