Created for Challenge # 100 for Time Reversal. This time I actually looked at the spoiler to make sure there wasn't already a reference to my card there...
So it's pretty hard to find an iconic card from Magic's past that people feel fondly about, but hasn't been riffed on or paid homage to in the original Time Spiral block. (Seriously, the density of references in that block is amazing, well over one per card.)
In the end I went for a variation on the Magi. This is a reference to Bazaar of Baghdad in the same way Magus of the Bazaar is. The idea is that Time Reversal could contain a cycle of Infiltrators, each of whom converts an iconic tap ability from Magic's past into a saboteur trigger.
I like this idea, though, I got to admit, the word 'infiltrator' makes me expect to see someone sneak into the bazaar and disrupt it somehow. Maybe makes the opponent discard two cards, but you draw the cards? I fear I might just be designing cards as opposed to responding to your card, though.
