Oh, I like it. In my set Clockwork Wings I had a similar mechanic, Connectors, but I didn't think of having one grant hexproof. The closest I've got are Subharmonic Stabiliser or sortof Tin-Wing Folio.

If it's okay with you I'd quite like to borrow this idea for the second set of the Clockwork Wings block (if I ever eventually get around to developing it).

I think, of more interest to Clockwork wings, is the "Non-component artifact" which is a very very very very sane improvement.

What? Aww! No, I like being able to build Connector chains in Clockwork Wings. It's normally better to just target the underlying artifact, but sometimes you might want to connect to a Connector, and I don't see why I should stop them.

Or is it that you don't like the ability to have two Connectors each plugged in to the other?

Well we had a very long discussion over on salvation about this exact subject so I'll try and summarize it here.

Basically it comes down to memory issues. Typically when one permanent is attached to another people simply put the attached permanent under the one it's attaching. However, if components could attach to each other and you chained them, you wouldn't be able to tell which one was attached to another. By having it say "non-Component" we managed to clear up any misunderstandings that may have occurred becuase the only permanent they could attach to would be the one they're under. Even this system isn't perfect though, it can still get confusing if you have an equipment and component with an artifact creature.

For what it's worth, your version was one of our first designs, we just took it one step further.

I just realized we made an artifact that turns all artifact creatures into invisible stalker. Isn't that a problem? (it wasn't back when we had shroud)

I say that it is a problem. That was one of the reasons why we designed (((Brass Aristocrat))) the way we did.
