Inspired by Challenge # 081. Every mechanic has a "make this awesome all the time" enchantment. But have we had one for entwine?
I've no idea what it should cost, or even what colour it should be. Suggestions?
Kinda a shame it refers to "Modal spell" How about "Whenever you would choose one option on a spell or ability, instead choose two."?
Heeee.
I could see this in blue, red or white. I... guess this is probably about the right cost, because although it makes the rest of your deck awesome, that deck has to be chosen from a pretty specific subset of cards.
Alternatively, artifact is a popular choice for the universaliser on five-colour mechanics, because then people can choose whatever colours they like.
@Vitenka: Yeah, I'd prefer to avoid it if I can, but the wording has to (a.) choose three modes for Austere Command and (b.) make it clear it only applies to "choose one" spells and similar, not other choices.
@Alex: Yeah, I thought artifact was a bit of a cop out if I didn't even try to decide what colour was right first, but if it's not obvious to other people either, I think making it an artifact so it can go in different decks is right.
Changed to artifact. Wording was "Whenever you cast a modal spell, you may choose an additional mode."
FWIW, I think the most expensive modal spell that doesn't have entwine is Austere Command, so it seems there's nothing very splashy to do with this, although maybe you could chain several cheaper charms that draw cards.
complete the conversion to artifact
Oops, thank you.
I assume what you mean, Jack, is that "You could always pay a minor cost with entwine, so it just makes those cards feel
cheaper... that doesn't break them." That's fair enough. Though it does good things with Betrayal of Flesh.
By the way, I think Merciless Eviction has one over on Austere Command. I'd say the same for Brutalizer Exarch, but, unfortunately, it doesn't work with the stone...
Yes, that's what I meant. I hoped it would be a bit clearer.
Hm. Maybe it should be "modal spells or abilities"??
