Created for Challenge # 068. I count at least 8 or 9 different ways in which this is horrible design. Frankly, once you fix them all I'm not sure there's anything left to salvage, but if anyone's up for trying it, I'd love to see what you can manage!
I love that casting cost. I could just imagine someone trying to argue that their friend should run this card in their black/red deck while explaining why hybrid eases mana restraints. :p
What's funny is that
does sometimes feel like the right cost, if something has to be red, but also plays in shared space that's a little bit more black but not exclusively. But I think it's normally a bad idea, and certainly with

and
:)
I'm having fun with this challenge trying to work out what all the badness is. So, let's see:
- It's a 2/7 in Red/Black
- It's common
- It's got a weird casting cost
- It's got life-gain-caring (not really red)...
- and type mutation
- and non-standard counters (+3/-1)
- It's got the untap symbol
- It cares about multiple creature types but only makes things Mutants
And a non-optional advantageous trigger...
There is nothing wrong with this card's creature type, since Infernal Spawn of Evil has grand-fathered it in. ;)
Cmeister got most of the deliberate badnesses. A couple of others:
Ah! I'm glad someone made a card with a problem with targeting. I'm impressed it was possible to squeeze that much onto a card.
I'd also add
But that's about as far as I can go, I think that's criticised just about every part of the card other than "creature" which seems ok :)
Demonic Influence taking the +1/-1 aspect of the card and making a card that just does that.
