For Challenge # 051
So, let's mash the second part of the challenge. (CMC + 2 = P = T) meets Phyrexian Debaser
Ok, sacrifice to hurt something, grizzlybear, CMC4.
So - in one direction; if I made this 6/6 for CMC4, how nasty a disadvantage would it need to have? And in the other, can I make it free to cast? How terrible would it need to be then?
A 6/6 and -2/-2 How about the clockwork disadvantage? It's worse than vanishing3. What amount of a discount is that worth? You can have a 3/3 that copies itself, a 2/3 flier that gains life... a 3/1 that becomes a 6/1 with shroud. Yes, it does look like you get a serious amount of power for it. Ok, let's try it. "Gets two -1/-1 counters when it attacks or blocks"? "Gets a -1/-1 counter in each upkeep"?
The latter sounds more black - use it or lose it STOMPY.
doh; forgot the rarity
Very interesting. Reminds me of Aboroth. You get one attack for 4 and one for 2, which makes me think at first that this is /over/costed... But I guess it's similar to Ball Lightning, and 2BB is similar to RRR...
It is probably overcosted, but I get the feeling it gets the job done. That is, if the job is "My opponent refuses to attack for two rounds, then when this goes to the graveyard, I return it to play and/or remove the counters from this card with a trick."
Yeah, it's certainly spectacular with Fate Transfer, or even Chisei, Heart of Oceans.
