Challenge # 039
Challenge
Design a card with the same name as a release of Ubuntu, the Linux kernel, or similar.
For the Linux kernels whose name is a phrase mentioning an animal, I'd say go with just the animal name from that kernel name. E.g. create "Dancing Manatee" or "Funky Weasel" rather than "Holy Dancing Manatees, Batman!" or "Funky Weasel is Jiggy wit it".
I'm sure I meant to create a sensible challenge at some point, but all my recent challenges seem to be distinctly silly... Sorry ^^;;
Oh, this may be a good occasion to link your cards by ID, in the (((C1234567))) syntax. E.g. Dapper Drake (jv) has ID 16748 so you enter ( ( ( C16748 ) ) ) without the spaces. That way if multiple people go for the same name we're disambiguated already.
(It seems (((cardname))) links don't work if there are parentheses in the card name, which is somewhat irritating and I'll try to fix it, but another good reason to use ID links in the meantime.)
Added Karmic Koala. Unfortunately had to mention the stack, because I didn't want "countering my own spell sheanigans" to win people the game. Though, I got to admit, that's not a common path to victory...
Added Avast! A Bilge Rat!. Alex technically 'suggested' shortening the name to make it sensible for a creature, but the challenge doesn't technically say you have to make a creature card...
Because I heard Chris say "Precise Pangolin looks to be much, much faster than Oneiric Ocelot" and thought he was talking about Magic cards...

LOL. Great idea.
Dapper Drake (jv)
Oneiric Ocelot (jv)
I added a signature to the name so people can still make their own takes on it. (Unless Alex thinks it should explicitly be a "choose an unused").

Oh yeah, good point, I'd forgotten you could do id links, that's really useful here.
Mabye I should use ".jv" instead of "(jv)" or something similar.
Added Vindictive Armadillo
Quantal Quetzal .jv
I made Lucid Lynx.

Greased Weasel
Affluent Albatross
Sliding Snow Leopard
Chris made Precise Pangolin
Added Avast! A Bilge Rat!. Alex technically 'suggested' shortening the name to make it sensible for a creature, but the challenge doesn't technically say you have to make a creature card...
I made Homicidal Dwarf Hamster.
I can't believe no-one's made Sabre-toothed Squirrel yet!
Go on then. Sabre Toothed Squirrel.
The neat thing about this challenge is there are more options the longer those OSes are developed! Diseased Newt
