Possibly too aggresively costed (!) since you can be immune to losing the game, or on a team... Black likes to sacrifice things :)

ROFL. Yeah, that's funny. It's so ridiculous (and probably a bit too narrow to be printed in a normal expansion) but it probably IS fairly costed, and DOES have uses:

  • in multiplayer, if you're losing anyway, you may take out a big spell with this
  • if you have platinum angel out, this is very good. But not broken, since at that point you could probably afford to pay 1UU. The cheap cost matters most in the early game -- when there's no convenient way round the downside.
  • Silver border, but if you're losing anyway, you mgiht want to destroy a time machine with this, maybe, although you probably wouldn't want it in your deck

Thought of another one - taking out the guy who starts a new game; or a shaharazad. I mean; frankly, it's worth conceding to get out of the never ending loop.

And, crud, yes, in a time limited tournament a timely concession from a (slowly) losing position could be worth it.

Also: Ouchie. Time machine + DFCs...

Well, you can always directly resign, but yes, if there's other players, you could play this so at least the shaharazad player hopefully loses in time :)

Another good use of it is with Hive Mind out, either yours, or against someone else's, when (if I read the rules right) you instantly win :)

Time machine + DFCs...

Good question. Is the "Turn X" referring to the mana cost of the permanent (0) or the card (whatever the real cost is)? Since it says "creature" not "card" I think it must be referring to the permanent, in which case it will put it into play on turn 0...wait while I hurriedly check the FAQ..."Since the game doesn't start until turn 1 ... the Ornithopter is merely already in play when the first turn starts."

Yow, yep, this is an even quicker kill with Hive Mind than four Pact of the Titan would be.

Time Machine plus DFCs is absurd and I may have to build that deck.

Knowledge Pool and Mindslaver. Oh, Mindslaver... you make so many cards relevant...

Though this would be fun with Knowledge Pool alone. "Oh, come on. I know you want to counter that spell..."
