For Challenge # 038.
Is repeatable countering too good? Probably. But restricting it to blue cuts it down...
Mmmm, I think wizards should have long ago introduced {UX} {RX} {BX} symbols. Though you'd still want reminder text, for the colour blind.
Anyhow - it's nice. And fun to play against, I suspect. "Can I make you drain it down low enough that it can't hurt my real threat" sub-game. Though Energy Chamber would be devastating with this.
Oh, yeah, a blue X is a really good idea. It probably wouldn't get that much use, but it would be so obvious it wouldn't matter if it was only on a few cards, it would still be clearer than using
for everything.
And thanks, yeah. I don't think a single energy chamber would make that much difference, but yeah, if you can keep proliferating it it would become an awfully annoying lock-out. (I did make sure it only works once per turn.)
This is a clever idea.
This thing makes Spell Blast look like a chump... but I guess Spell Blast was already a chump. At least this requires a heavy blue mana dedication. I would be more comfortable, however, if there was an activation cost... maybe
... to not only balance the card a bit, but give a nice 'shields down' moment.
I think the blue cost really matters, as does the fact that you have to play this before, not keep it in hand until you need it, so it's not strictly better than Spell Blast, but I agree it probably is better.
You're right, there probably should be an activation cost.
