For Challenge # 038.
Stretching things a lot with a green counterspell, but it feels like what green would do, by analogy with Beast Within and Gaddock Teeg, etc.
Come to think of it, this is technically a hard counter, but I have a hard time thinking of it that way. There's no point it costing GUU or you'd just play cancel...
Heh. Yeah, the spell version of Beast Within. Funny.
Thanks :)
Darnit; this was like my very first thought too - though I was going to put it at
and let it hit any kind of spell, as green is usually rubbish at counters.
Yeah, there's bound to be some duplication. Feel free to make an alternative if you want, I don't expect there's much competition for the
slot :)
For what it's worth, I'm not sure this is the correct version, but my reasoning was (a) green is supposed to be able to handle creatures with bigger creatures, but may be vulnerable to "win the game" spells (even though that's not exactly true) (b) there's enough downside in countering a big spell and giving them an X/X, it doesn't need to be
cost as well.
I rather like this idea. It penalizes people for playing cheap removal. "Swords to Plowshares? That's all you had? Man, if you were packing Vengeance, you would have at least got a 4/4..."
