History:

Created for Challenge # 037. In a format where being bounced is a hefty risk for aggressive creatures, clearly the thing to do is to make creatures that don't mind being bounced. Keldon Marauders would do just fine here, but Vanishing isn't especially Core Set-appropriate. This card loves for you to bounce it, and it shrugs at being targeted by Echoing Decay: sac, countered on resolution, another 1 to the dome. It could alternately be a leaves-play trigger like Keldon Marauders.

That's a really good response. Cards like this would make players think twice about playing 'the bounce deck'. Unfortunately, it might also be setting up a new deck for all the bounce decks to become. Boney Control could ditch the black and start playing red, if enough cards like this existed. This seems easy to solve if the card was turned into a {g}{r} creature, though (assuming that gold cards were allowed in core sets. Rumor has it that 2013 is going to do it anyways.)
