Yeah, this probebly needs to be oppponents creatures only. Self pumping it might be a bit too devastating if you can then follow up with some evasion. Though saying that, it's at least a 3 card combo that takes time to build up. So maybe it's ok.

And if you can't follow with evasion, they can block and get a huge creature too.

Oh, also, the creature type needs to read: "Creature - Egg Plant Wizard".

Um, crap. Just realised this gets pretty hideous if you can enchant it with infect or wither.

Wouldn't it just read something like "this creature deals damage in the form of -1/-1 counters" and "this creature deals damage in the form of +1/+1 counters" and in the end, both would cancel out? I mean, if that isn't the way that works, Wizards is going to have some problems with "this creature deals damage in the form of..." in the future...

I thought double replacement effects, so you'd get to choose the one you prefer.

Also possible. Though, now that I think of it, it could be layering that dictates this, and we really have a case of last in, first out. I suppose the point I was making, however, is that it isn't really so much a mess, as something that Magic will have to deal with anyway, and is therefore as much a mess as switching power and toughness. A small minority will be driven nuts by each card that continues to be printed. Most people won't know there's a problem. Many people will get the interaction wrong, but probably won't care.

Sure - didn't think it was a "We don't know what happens" mess; thought it was a "Oh gosh, this card gets freaking good" mess.
