Ooh! Can I choose "Annihilator 6"? Can I choose "protection from everything"? (Can I choose "Annihilator 1000000"?)
I ... think the intention here is it steals the counters off of opponents creatures? I dunno, can you choose an ability token from outside the game? It's not on a permanent you control. But I feel that logic makes a mockery of most other 'choose' options too.
Oh! So you think it means "choose an ability counter on a permanent you don't control and move it to that token"? Could be, I guess. But how many opponents will be playing with ability counters? I guess if it's a big theme of the set...
I'm not sure how it's going to play but I like the flavour of eras and extinctions
The text is unclear. Perhaps it should say "choose a kind of ability counter..." if that is what is meant, or if it is what Vitenka suggests, it should say "on a player or object that isn't a permanent you control".
For ability counters, I was looking at what Ikoria had given us (the routine keywords). The counter isn't stolen, but more "I don't have anything with a vigilance counter, so I'll put a vigilance counter on this crocodile that just entered."
