For Challenge # 023.
Thinking of a way for red to oppose white removal was difficult, and I ended up with something reminiscent of Norin the Wary... I guess.
'When' would probably work better than 'if.. instead'. What would it matter if this went to the graveyard?
Only flavor cares, I think. It can't exactly skitter away from death if it's already dead, right?
I feel there should be a way to phrase that first ability, but this isn't quite it. I think this will replace the destruction of the other creature as well!
And yeah, it is a bit problematic that white removal can't be characterised quite so consistently. What commonality do Chastise, Condemn, Oblivion Ring and Pacifism have? Not much. This could perhaps just be "Protection from enchantments" or "~ can't be enchanted"? That'd also fit the "skittering" flavour somehow.
Oh, I think you're right. I was trying to get it to escape from Day of Judgment, but... well. Maybe protection from enchantments would work, and maybe then I could give Conniving Beetle protection from creatures?
