Maybe give it hexproof or indestructible. Either that, or drop the clause about the rest of the game. Not playing lands while it’s out is probably enough.
Maybe make it Legendary, though.
Yeah, just make it "You cannot play lands" so it goes away if the artifact goes away.
This seems to fight against Zendikar's landfall theme; though.
Yeah wasn't really sure about the zendikar thing... maybe just a specific continent that got totally ruined... Might fit more into a scifi setting but im not a fan of climate-change-so-bad-the-world-ended-lol settings so i passed up on it
I like this idea. Though, besides affecting landfall and odd activated abilities of upcoming nonbasics, there's pretty much no drawback here. The Hope gives you all the mana you will ever need, so who cares if you can't play more lands? Not many spells cost more than .
Even if this only added three mana, I'd think about playing this card over Gilded Lotus. Just because hexproof is great when you have a mana rock like Gilded Lotus that's begging to be targeted. Is not being able to play any more lands a fair enough drawback for hexproof? Unclear. If it tapped for four mana, though, I'd definitely switch to Hope.
Thanks for all the feedback, but from your comment I feel you missed the line that said 'and cannot tap lands for mana'... Since you've brought all this up, I will probably remove that line.
Ok, this is now just gibber-ridiculous as Jm had it. I liked the one that blew up all your lands on etb.
Yeah same, it made you commit to the mana rock archtype. Maybe I'll compromise on power and theme by adding a line
I've been known to skip a sentence or two when I get excited. ;)
