why not just 'Arrives tapped unless you discard a card.'
See Hallowed Fountain, etc.
Why "arrives"?
That's pretty strong. If you ignore the first bit, it's just a 5-color tapland. And then it has the added versatility to trade a card for some tempo if you want to play aggressively.
Also: 5-color Madness deck, anyone?
@sorrow that's just how link does it, i didnt bother asking him to use the standard wording. tbh i dont really think its that important, i think its aesthetic enough and works in the rules.
this seems totally possible, should probably be a rare or mythic if it had a rarity.
And yeah this would be super useful, but not bah-roken.
with the new play design its possible something this strong could see print since it's not strictly better than a basic
It is better than the best possible "ETB tapped" dual-land; though. So it obviates a huge swath of design space. At the very least I'd expect it to be legendary.
And yeah; "Arrives" instead of "Enters the battlefield" is a lot shorter, and looks unfamiliar, but could certainly work.
Previously had no land types and produce any color of mana.
How's this?
Actually, it might be better, because of the land types.
Reminds me of Lion's Eye Diamond
I think "Enters" would be easier for players to get used to.
Dreaming Well enters tapped unless you discard a card.
Hmm, so now it's a dual instead of a utopia; which is a reasonable space. It's also searchable as a plains or as an island; which is a thing they've played with before. So sure, maybe? If a set really needs it.
