Eater of Days #2
See Challenge # 139.
Ub get the real mind control effects, so their enemies Rg get the answer.
Horde Ambusher #2 I feel this name had much more free reign. I could've calmed down on what the card did, but I took the name as a story. The

Hired Giant #2
See Challenge # 139.
Flavourwise I can see it in any colour: W/G "restore fairness", RB "hands off, mine!", U "change control". I'm not sure if there's a balance reason its in G/R, but I generally think it's easiest to stick to the established colours unless there's a really good reason to change.
So much worse than Brand.
Basal Thrull #2
See Challenge # 139.
So my card was Basal Thrull from Homelands. I didn't really know what do for a thrull other than I figured it'd be black. I designed the card off of the word "basal" and knowing thrulls are made from dead flesh. I figured base would mean that this thrull is used in the creation of other thrulls.
I just realized black doesn't have much to do with this, so gruul it is.
Pyrohemia #2
See Challenge # 139.
What do you want to achieve with the colours? Having multiple required colours on a cheap spell makes it harder to cast, whereas a niche card like this I think is most interesting in as many decks as possible, so I'd put it in a single colour (or possibly RG hybrid, in a set which is happy with niche hybrid cards). If it could go in multiple colours, I think it's generally best to just pick one. But is there another reason for it?
A cantrip is probably a good idea. I'm thinking about the card colrs, however - what do you think about a green mana and a black/red hybrid mana?
I made Death Denied #2, and, as I often do, forgot to link to it here.
Oh yes, that's the perfect effect for this name.
Gruul Charm suggests getting ownership back is usually G/R, not UB (which are good colours for stealing ownership). It's also really narrow, against most decks it won't do anything at all unless it's part of a dedicated "exchange control" combo in some way. Maybe tack on a card-draw cantrip?

In fact, yes... Ixidron #2
See Challenge # 139.
:) I was only joking, I assumed there'd be some cards with made-up names and we'd think of something good or skip them, I don't think it matters. I thought I'd have to skip "Dragonlord Otujai" but that worked!
I do think I might be able to think of something that works with the name "ixidrone". I had a look for related words, there's an insect with a similar name. But if not, I won't really worry.
Gah! It ins't Legendary, but it sure acts that way.
The only take I can bring into this is that -ix is a suffix for feminine (usually, it's spelled out as -trix.) and that 'dron' sure looks a lot like drone. Lady drone? Don't know. Do what you can, but feel free to just take the pass.
Hm, I had a good run, but now I have "Ixidron". I'm not sure I can do this one... :)
