Like Alex said, this is excellently flavorful.
I assume this is for Challenge # 030. Very compelling and flavourful take on the idea!
Changed ability to Sleep for non-flyers and weakened the stats.
OK, I added those to a details page. Anyone feel free to reformat/add to it.
Okay, then I'll grab the one after.
Created for Challenge # 030.
I'll take the one after that.
Well, there's precedent for the one in Flood, and for the other in Floodgate :) I think the cost to transform this is too low though (or the creature is too big); it's basically an Inkwell Leviathan, which cost 9 and couldn't fit in a land slot in your deck.
I love the flavour, and actually I have to say that having a DFC manland which can transform back as part of an activated ability is one of the best justifications for using a DFC in this way (rather than just something like Stalking Stones).
Too powerful? Probably. But a cool first start none the less. The damage to ground creatures is a bit off though. How about tapping your opponent's creatures? That's got a feel of a giant turtle slamming into the water.
That's a powerful turtle. Well, I guess anything the size of a planet would be. :) All hail the great A'Tuin!
If you take out the extra line breaks, the text will be larger and easier to read.
I like this version of a man-land. It's nice to have a land that can be made into something later if it proves to be less useful. The main issue I have with it is that the tap ability, while flavorful, isn't really blue. There's also a tension created by its stats and other abilities combined with that tap ability, but sometimes that's okay.
Here's my first card: Mystical Island And second: Nuclear Explosion
I've got an idea, if no one else does.
By the by, does anyone want the next one? I don't have anything planned, but I like to see these going off about once every 10 days or so. If someone else doesn't have one ready, I'm sure I can think of something.
Yeah... I sort of forgot about this page. Which is rather silly of me, since it's right there on the front. Still, I think a details page would be nice.
It makes sense to keep this thread for people to sign up or discuss, but would it make sense to move the list of upcoming (even if it now often only has one on) to a details page instead of relying on Alex's comment?
ttt3142: Welcome! I'm the admin of this site, and hope you enjoy yourself here. If you want to create a card in one of the cardsets jmgariepy linked, click "New card" in the box at the top of any cardset page or at the top of any design challenge page.
jmgariepy: Well, there is a link to "About Multiverse" at the bottom of every page, and also via the "Find out more" link near the top of the very front page. But I agree that About page itself could do with some expansion. Your suggestions are excellent material for adding to the About page, jmg - thanks.
Sure, ttt3142, but that kind of depends on what you want to get out of the site.
If you're looking to just casually make a few cards, you can add them to Cards With No Home.
If you want to make goofy joke cards you can add them to Silver Bordered and/or Joke Cards.
If you want to join in on the Multiverse Design Challenge... it's casual and open. Challenges are created irregularly, but we still have a card/thread that stops us from throwing too many challenges up simultaneously. You're more than welcome to add your submissions to any of the challenges. Feel free to either start from the beginning, or do this one and work backwards... whatever floats your boat.
When you do complete a challenge, you're going to want other people to notice it, so they get a chance to respond to your work. On that Challenge's page (like this one, for Challenge #30), Add a comment, and link to your card by writing in the card name exactly and surrounding it with three sets of parenthesis. If you click on "Formatting Help" above the "Add Your Comments" Field, there's some more tips on linking stuff.
Welcome to the site, by the way. And thank you for pointing out something that we could use... a general walkthrough of the site on the main page. Alex?
Hi, I'm new here. Can I get some advice for starting out?
