First ability should be templated as "
: Draw X cards..."
Second ability should say "...transform ~ and put eight loyalty counters on it."
"You may cast either side" has already been keyworded: it's called "split cards" :P
This card inspired Souls of the Damned.
Weird. It seems that DFCs with Planeswalker face down need a few adjustments. Fixed.
Why did the planeswalker side become common?
Also strange... I had to set Ajani's flipped side to the color white. Planeswalker don't automatically know what color the other side is when flipped, I suppose.
Added Ajani's Summons, Noble Grove and Damned Soul. I'm always honored when my cards are 'reprinted' Dude, so steal away.
Challenge # 030 and a bit inspired by Mora, Mare. Still too confusing for new players, but I don't really want the reminder text...
Challenge # 030. I don't think I've seen a card become intentionally worse through transformation. Okay, there's the creatures that die and come back as less than themselves. Hmm. Ah, whatever.
I also like what happened when I put tranform in the activated ability's cost... what with the having to put the flipped name in the card's ability.
For Challenge # 030. Sorrow beat me to the punch, but his enchantment that turns into a Planeswalker has a different feel, so I figured I'd toss my idea out there. Because the summons doesn't do much of anything, I made sure to turbo-charge Ajani's -6. This Planeswalker shows up late for the party, but when he gets there, it's a blast.
Ah! Sorrow, you beat me to the punch! I was going to make a card that transformed into a Planeswalker today... shows me for waiting.
Somehow, this card needs to jump back on the stack... otherwise it will just go to the graveyard. That's doable, but I don't know if it's worth it... since the card could just sacrifice itself for the effect...
Ooh, rough! Round 1 Isamaru, Hound of Konda and a 2/2 Intimidater. The loss of a land drop seems pretty harsh, and I'd say that's probably balanced if I didn't expect this occasionally be backed up by another Eden and a Mogg Fanatic. Still, that sounds like a fun deck.
I like this idea... It's going to confuse the crud out of new players who just assume they can play the flashback from the graveyard by discarding the card... but a little reminder text might get past that problem. Good jorb.
I really don't get the problem. People don't seem to think too hard when it comes to continuously shuffling their decks, so I don't know why they complain so much about DFCs. As far as I'm concerned, after a break of two years or so, Wizards should just put 10 DFCs in every set, to get people used to it being a regular part of the game. It's only a problem if it comes up rarely.
And please! I'll think about playing online again when they bring back Leagues. Why they dumped such an awesome function is beyond me... I know they've lost my $30 per month since then.
I would totally keyword "You may cast either side..." That's insanely useful. Both these cards are great too, but my brain hurts at the thought that the white side doesn't just give the creature +0/+2.
Thanks!
I went with three to allow for a lot of variety, I have now changed it to "up to three" following your feedback.
