For Challenge # 040.
How appropriate! I don't know Planechase that well, but I'll peruse existing planes and see if I can come up with something.
Ah. I can see that when I try to edit it.
Even if Multiverse supported custom mana symbols, I wouldn't know how to make them, so don't feel pressured on my account! :)
No, it looks like my mana-cost-formatting code forces everything into caps if it's in the "cost" field. It's a little inflexible that way regarding custom mana symbols (which aren't supported yet anyway).
I can't believe no-one's made Sabre-toothed Squirrel yet!
I made Homicidal Dwarf Hamster.
Created for Challenge # 039. Killer Bat of Doom and Sheep on Meth seem like they'd be pretty fun to do a design for as well.
Added Avast! A Bilge Rat!. Alex technically 'suggested' shortening the name to make it sensible for a creature, but the challenge doesn't technically say you have to make a creature card...
For Challenge # 039. I liked the idea of a couple of sailors checking the hold and finding a dreaded Bilge Rat. Problem: 1/1 flash deathtouch is really good, but, while the name infers that this is an instant, the card would make more sense as a creature. Also, just slapping two keywords on a card isn't fun... it needed something else. So I added the "got to attack the sailors when they find it" clause. I don't know if it works, but I'm keeping it.
This certainly makes Viashino Sandscout look like a punk, but I don't think that's a real problem. Strong, but strong like a modern rare. Seems good.
Kinda like Rhox but without the option - sweet
Chris made Precise Pangolin
Oh yes, great idea. That's "precise" exactly, and would be interesting to play with.
Thank you!
That was the flavour of Magic's other Albatross, Giant Albatross, so it looks good to me. It's reminiscent of Autocorrecting Tilt-Rotor or Swans of Bryn Argoll, but simpler than either (and less abusable than either as well). Good common.
Ooh, really interesting mechanic! Yay for design challenges prodding people to come up with unusual abilities :) This is very simple in rules terms but quite subtle in gameplay. I think this will generally work something like a Lava Spike that ties up a blocker for a turn, but there are lots of circumstances that can change that. Very nice one!
Ah, nicely done. I found this one of the most intriguing names, but I couldn't figure out something to do with it; this fits better than anything I came up with.
For Challenge # 039.
A creature so precise it'll only take down creatures it can kill exactly. Unless you cheat, of course.
With Toughness > Power, it wins outright against any X/X creatures it can tangle with. It's often effectively unblockable; but on the flip-side, it often can't block at all either.
For Challenge # 039
Attempting to capture "sliding" by "goes straight through to attack player whether it wants to or not". I'm not sure what it's worth having this on a 3/2 -- it's terrible if they can block it with a 2/2, but if you can force them to need to chump then they can't and this is suddenly unblockable, which is great for a green aggro deck. I don't know.
