For Challenge # 040. I wanted to get at least one 'real' Magic plane out there, so I put Icatia on the map. There's a bit too much stuff going on on the card, I admit, so if anyone wants to help pare down what's on the card, I'm open to suggestions. As a quick breakdown:
Is this "Lands gain X", or "Lands lose all abilities and gain X". It's a pretty big difference, but I think both are printable on Planes, since that extra mana helps you Planeshift away...
Everyone was making planes based on sets they're doing, so I thought I should as well.
Chernobyl.
Created for Challenge # 040. The chaos ability represents the place blowing up.
@Link: Huh. Yes, it does. Not sure how my search failed to turn that up. Maybe I foolishly searched for "tokens" rather than "token".
@jmg: I actually used to have that, but then I thought the text was already too long and would be worth shortening.
I assume it means "return all the exiled cards to the battlefield under your control".
Interesting...
Whee! Decided to put New Mirrodin on the map before trekking off into established Wizards Worlds. Be back with one of those soon.
For Challenge # 040. Yay, Glornica! The first ability is set up to feel like players are being forced to interact with an ever increasing swarm of native savages. If it funny that it not only encourages non-combatants, but gets you to swing with those nifty new Viashino you have, lest you give your opponents even more creatures.
The second ability wraps up the first ability, making sure it doesn't go completely out of control, while still having a big effect on the game, and getting another New Mirrodin flavor push.
At beginning of turn effects on planes normally include "When you planeswalk to ~, or at the beginning of your upkeep". I assume that's appropriate here, despite the slow build effect of the plane...
I've been known to control a few creatures in my day, as well. :)
Doesn't The Fourth Sphere make tokens?
If I understand planes correctly, it WILL get your opponent's creatures. The player whose turn it is controls the plane, right?
Is there much point to gaining control of exiled cards?
Nice implementation of the flavour.
Why not just "target legendary creature" to snag your opponents' as well?
OK, plane support is rolled out, in a slightly buggy way. At the moment you'll have to specify Plane frame in the dropdown at the top - it doesn't autodetect based on the type box. Things like that should be coming in the next few days.
