Shouldn't this be legendary?
The abilities are now all very closely tied to Arcanis the Omnipotent's.
For power level, Flood and a slightly better Treasure Trove both seem reasonable creature abilities. (The draw-a-card ability is worse than Sphinx of Magosi's.) Getting a discount Capsize as an activated ability may be somewhat insane, but he is meant to be a mythic.
make the abilities more closely mirror his first printing
power up his abilities if he's going to be mythic
Tricky. Not many characters from Dominaria are still alive post-Time-Spiral, and those who are were still busy leading their factions last we heard (Commander Eesha, Llawan, Cephalid Empress, etc). Braids is a possibility, but I went for Arcanis the Omnipotent and created Arcanis, Vagrant Archmage.
As for an artifact... given how random the original Legacy was, basically any artifact could do here, couldn't it? I mean, the original Legacy included the Null Rod, the Touchstone, the Skyshaper, even Squee's Toy, not to mention Karn, Silver Golem himself. Bit hard to narrow anything down based on that.
Created for Challenge # 048 based on Arcanis the Omnipotent. I figured Arcanis might be reasonably likely to a) still be around N years later, and b) willing to abandon his current way of life to lend his strength to the crew (especially if he gets paid). I imagine he could well have his own reasons for helping out and he's certainly got some secrets: all good qualities for an interesting storyline character.
Pau, Skyhound and Moonstone Cannon, not really addressing the challenge, and not really any damn good either. Though I do think the ability on Pau should exist somewhere.
For Challenge # 048 and kinda lame in final execution.
For Challenge # 048 I decided that since I know nothing of weatherlight, I'd channel Skies Of Arcadia instead.
Which lead me to realising that giving all fliers first strike was actually really interesting. Only does much on defence; and makes up for your wasting the extra ability to block on a grounder.
Which, in turn, let me find something in SoA that gives first strike; which leads to the concept of a race of flying dogs.
The only other available flavour text is: "Pau! Pau Pau!" Maybe that's better :)
clarify what the actual task is
In "Return of the Weatherlight", Urza's Blueprints have been discovered, and someone has decided to recreate and modify on the original Weatherlight. Each person on the team has been tasked with creating an evocative Legend to add to the crew of the the new Weatherlight, and a Legendary Artifact that will be a part of the Legacy Engine that fuels the Weatherlight. (For those who don't know... parts of the Legacy Engine don't need to look like engine parts. The engine consisted of roughly random artifacts, though, each one was unique).
The events of Return of the Weatherlight take place after Timespiral, with a Dominaria returning to normal. Characters and artifacts can come from planes other than Dominaria, but would need a back story as to why they are now on Dominaria.
For more information on the Skyship Weatherlight, you could always start with MTGSalvation's Wiki Entry
I find this surprisingly difficult.
This is my really crappy first entry for Challenge # 047.
lowered cost
Heehee! Nice!
Yeah; this needs to be an elephants only deck. And can't survive on its own. Which is oh so sweet! But also really really useless at that cost.
Considering Crusader of Odric exists, this should cost
at most.
For Challenge # 047.
Added Baby Elephant.
Added Promising Spawn, because Eldrazi children need love to.
Originally cost
, but jumped it to
when I realized that you can technically use this card to cast another copy of this card and get a 4/5 for
and discard a card...
