For Challenge # 049. Sorry for the flyspeck text.

Basically, I thought Flying Kraken needed to be something other than a Kraken, with Flying. So it's a boat! And you can ride in the boat, which makes you probably a bit tougher and harder to block, but also vulnerable to sinking.

Yowsers. This would be pretty terrifying even as a sorcery. If you assume you'll be putting this in a deck where you're getting some benefit from flickering the target, this should probably cost about 4, by comparison with Restoration Angel (making the absurd approximation "two more flickers" ≈ "a 3/4 flyer").

Chris is right, this needs "As long as it's exiled", otherwise it's a "right now or never". Which is actually a fine alternative way for it to be.

Momentary blink suggests this is reasonable but undercosted. This is less flexible than momentary blink plus flashback, but will be awesome if you hit the right ETB creature.

For Challenge # 049. Flatten has the strange potentiality of increasing either power or toughness... but it's going to be a very rare case when either of the base stats are below 0. I can only think of Spinal Parasite and Char-Rumbler are the only options, evidently.

My first thought was that the card was broken... but, honestly, it's not much worse than Elkin Bottle. I think Elkin Bottle infers this card should probably have a small mana activation. If I'm to follow the money: Elkin Bottle was used in tournament decks back in the day, and so wasn't Jayemdae Tome - Jayemdae Tome isn't as powerful anymore, but good enough to reprint as an uncommon, so, probably is Elkin Bottle.
This does do a very scary dance around casting cost snags. My first thought would be to add as many cards out there. And add Urza's Quality Control. ;)
