Aren't they both 5994 years old? I admit, when I first saw the picture, I didn't connect it to Good Omens, but when I looked at it, I thought it was a good picture for them, even if it wasn't quite how I'd imagined them.
But FWIW, I think it's fine to have a couple of pictures like that. One of the playtest cards when Richard Garfield was designing magic had a picture of captain kirk on, but the card wasn't "captain kirk", it was "hero", illustrated with captain kirk :)
I'm not sure about cost. CMC = total P/T seems a usual maximum, but every so often a big rare exceeds that, eg. Armada Wurm, 6 mana for ten power of tramplers. Although I guess at a minimum this should go to "2WWBB", and quite possibly more. I'm not sure what a more conventional cost would be; 8 seems too much to ever be played outside limited.
Ah, you're right. I just disregarded that as the signature of the artist. They looked too old in my mind to be the main characters... since I always assumed they were 10 or so. Ah, well.
Is it me or is this really undercosted?
And yes, jmgariepy, this art is either from Good Omens or is fanart of it. It has Crowley and Aziraphale written on it, and they're reading Good Omens.
I had to look up "Crowly and Aziraphael" to make sure I didn't accidentally put up a kind of famous picture (I've done it before with Dr. Who. I don't really watch the show, but, you know... spooky angel statues. Turns out everyone knows what they are but me.)
Oh, it's from Good Omens, and I'm pretty sure this picture is not. Okay, we're cool. Just to be safe, I double checked "Crowly and Aziraphael" in Google image search. Unfortunately, I forgot that whenever you look up images of a book with two male protagonists, rule 34 is sure to follow...
Absolutely brutal. I'd love to believe this is fair, since it seems fun, but I'm pretty sure the casting cost is off. That said, he seems like fun.

I'm not sure the templating for the ability is quite right.
From the start I felt this should be red/green because centaurs are usually green in a stern-firm-honorable narnia way, but this one looks like more like a traditional very wild angry greek myth centaur, almost devilish. Though it could work as pure red (even though red gets fewer centaurs) or as pure green (playing up the boldness rather than the recklessness).
Originally he looked like he was charging alone, and I thought of several simple reckless centaur cards, mainly being 2G or 1RG and 3/3 or 3/1 with firebreathing and some combination of trample, haste, first strike, etc.
But I decided he could equally well be leading a horde which led to this.
For Challenge # 060.
I decided capturing Crowly and Aziraphael would be a bit much, but that they made a very nice representation of a general Angel/Demon pair.
I considered "white angel" and "black angel" but decided angel/demon was better. Originally I gave them different keywords (like the superfriends card), but I decided the reversed protection fit the symmetry a lot better, and is a traditional W/B trope.
In fact, come to think of it, maybe this should make a pair of knights, and use the art as a "close enough" illustration? :)

The obvious interpretation is "dinosaurs", but I looked for what else was in the picture, and to me it looked like a tyrannosaur facing down an apatosaur on a narrow cliff, hence this.
I went through several different similar abilities. I felt sad giving the flying exception, but it's necessary for flavour.
I'm not sure if this is too good a blocker. It's completely vulnerable to removal, but it's definitely a good answer to "oh shit, my opponent has all the good creatures" which is exactly the answer you want :)
It could easily go down to a five-mana 5/5 or up to a nine-mana 9/9. Or even be a P/T > CMC green monster. Or it may also provide a restriction on only one creature blocking, but if you have a 7/7, that won't normally matter that much. Or apply the restriction to everyone (originally it was written this way).
Thank you. And yeah, exactly, this set of pictures has a lot of "oh, you can do that!" where the picture can be an example of how you use the card rather than an exhaustive description, which is where you get lots of really interesting ideas :)
I think red still has hurricane in its colour pie, even though it rarely gets it because green does instead. (But I may be wrong, has red got any direct damage vs fliers since future sight?)
Or form of the dragon :)
If you switch those steps, declaring blockers will be impossible. However, lest this become an asymmetrical Bedlam, the combat damage step is ill-defined in this case, as it only gives provisions for how unblocked, blocked, and blocking creatures assign and deal damage.
Now, if you switch the order of cleanup and the next player's untap...
so... you got any blockers? :D
Hmm. I wonder if just skipping to the chase would be better with this card. "When ~ blocks, its controller exiles blocked creature and gains all activated abilities..." is a bit tighter, even if you don't get one attack in.
I like this guy otherwise. We don't see many dominating 'when you're blocked' triggers... you'd expect the trigger to be when Avarth is blocked... but one every now and then feels like a good idea.
I can see why you would have based the casting cost on Omniscience, but this card isn't really as powerful as that one, except for purposes of
spells and additional costs. If you're at three life when you play this (quite possible, since this card comes out in the late game) it won't be much better than a Gilded Lotus (heh. lotus).
Also, I'm going to assume that this card is printed in Future Sight II, and includes the reminder text (For example, at the beginning of your upkeep, if you had six life, you could add three blue, two orange and a purple mana, if those colors of mana exist.)
I rather like this. You got the right idea with it being a rare even on a 1/3 for 2cc. Cards that trigger off of exiling should be a 'sometimes food'. But a little does go a long way.
Huh. I rather like this top down approach (literally). I was kind of wondering what someone would come up with for a card that brutalized dragons. In retrospect, this sort of thing seems obvious, but that's the thing about retrospect... if it seems obvious, but you didn't get it at first glance, then the other person did a good job.
It's unfortunate there's so much red going on in this card. I would have suggested a casting cost of

otherwise, since it seems like it's doing a red thing and a green thing. The ability, however, is red enough. Also missing from this card "...and deals 6 damage to any player that has activated Al-abara's Carpet." :D
I am so confused as to what happens when you switch the Declare Attacks and the Declare Blocks steps.

My main concepts looking at this was "noble archers" or something more... pinpointed, and this was the first idea that seemed to work. I also considered "same creature type", as Radical Purge just used.
For Challenge # 060
I imagine this is broken as written, but I'm not sure quite what things are possible. It probably needs to at least restrict it to two steps of the same phase.
