For Challenge # 060

I thought "what does a still life with a skull in remind me of" and my mind jumped to this. I originally tried to make it store up the life you've lost and have you lose that amount, but that was just too fiddly.

There wasn't originally a mana payment, but if it just said "prevent all damage that would be dealt to you" I thought it would be too impassable to some decks. I did change it from "leave the battlefield" to "destroyed".

Yay, those art pieces are awesome, it must be a lot of work, but I think they're just the right sort of varied and open to different interpretations, but generally appropriate to magic cards.

We just had a challenge # 59, I think this one should be 60?

I tried to make sure there was a bit more variety and options than in Challenge # 010. I may have brought too many pieces of art to the table, though. I kind of liked constrasting other people's opinions of what kind of card would go well with what kind of image. We'll see. Art Challenge is still a learning process... and a lot of time. I sure can't do this challenge on a regular basis. Geez.

When you create a card, there is a space between the name and casting cost and the color and watermark called "URL for art". Copy the URL listed below any of these 13 images, paste it in a new card's "URL for art" field and design a card around it. I suggest you make three cards, since the first card is rarely your best. That said, feel free to design as many as you wish.
Feel free to click on the images. Doing so will bring up a larger image that you can scan for details. Do remember, however, that the final card's image will be closer in size to the thumbnail provided.
