What V is saying is "each replacement effect can only apply to the same event once".
So let's say someone casts Probe with kicker.
Unreplaced event: "Draw three cards, then discard two cards. Target player discards two cards."
After Paradox Machine Replacement 1: "Each player draws 3 cards, then you discard two cards. Target player discards two cards."
After Paradox Machine Replacement 2: "Each player draws 3 cards, then each player discards two cards. Each player discards two cards."
Total: Everyone draws 3, then everyone discards 4, just like you'd expect.
Yo dawg! I heard you like replacement effects. So I put a replacement in your replacement effect, so you could replace replacement effects while you replace replacement effects.
Pretty sure replacements don't check their replacement for replacements.
So does this thing freak out and empty everyone's hands in a giant loop of discarding, or alternatively, what rules are preventing that?
nice compared to Evolving Wilds
Yeah, I agree. This is a heck of a lot better than Bandage, but it's not like that's a problem. Even Renewed Faith was only really playable with Slide / Lightning Rift.
super-powerful effect still. Also makes kind of no sense flavorfully.
This is extremely good. Like too strong, especially at uncommon. This is definitely rare.
This cycle is really good. Like maybe too good. Usually these buffs cost 2-3, but 0 and you get a land? sign me up
I think the spell side will probably never hit because you can't respond to a Giant Growth with this because the targets are already chosen. The ability side would combo so well with Goldmeadow Harrier or something though.
Glad to see a version of Healing Salve which both doesn't outright suck and would probably actually see play as a good early defence against aggro decks.
if this is an enemy of the doctor why not just make it able to target the doctor's colors? Or whatever colors are enemies of this creature in teh show. My point is it's still probably too strong for an uncommon honestly. Turning useless lands into terrors is great. If you don't like selective targeting of colors, try maybe making them discard 2 cards. That would be enough to play this at uncommon I think, with it sucking up that much fuel.

Ah, spellshaping Terror. That's Notorious Assassin. Still rare, I'm afraid.
Ooh, mass pump of one creature, that's an interesting idea.
It should probably be cheaper, even if it has to have a more expensive pump cost, or it'll be too hard to get two of them into play.
moved to common to increase as-fan
moved to uncommon
Yes, still way too powerful for common and probably for uncommon. This is pretty close to Avatar of Woe's ability, which was a deck-defining casual card.
Here are the common Assassins in printed Magic. Three of them are one-off killers with a restriction. The other one is a repeated effect, but it's a temporary -1/-1. Most of the uncommon Assassins are oneoffs as well, or very restricted like Hunter of Eyeblights.
Given which, Jack's guidelines seem very accurate to me.
This seems comparable, but still better, to Royal Assassin. As a general rule of thumb, I'd say repeatable creature destruction should be uncommon, and repeatable creature destruction without depending on a limited resource (sacrifice a creature, discard a card, etc) should be rare.
Would a Teselecta Antibody be equally well represented by a card that had to sacrifice itself to destroy something? That can be strong, but can still be common?
I lowered toughness and increased costs. Still too powerful?
