Scythe Leopard and the like show this shouldn't be a common due to easily enabling draft rush strategies (the same reason Memnite and one mana 2/1 are always uncommon).
Since it will trigger its own landfall ability and effectively gives two mana plus one life a turn I think this card needs to be reworked.
Turn Against would also be a nice answer :) But yes, not many.
That last ability is needlessly wordy. It should just say
> Otherworldly - Whenever a player casts a coloured spell, that player sacrifices each coloured permanent he or she controls.
And yes, I don't think either of the two evasion abilities should be on a card that's also indestructible.
Vitenka: It's not quite complete lockdown because you can still cast Swords or Condemn or Hallowed Burial, you just lose your board state when you do. The otherworldly ability makes it basically impossible to trade multiple blockers for this, but indestructible already did that.
Amusingly, Icy Manipulator is one of the best answers to this.
And common Lotus Cobra is fine, but needs to cost a lot more than 2, like Stone-seeder Hierophant.
What? No it shouldn't. It's a creature spell. Uncounterability only has the "by spells or abilities" text if it's something that can still be countered by the rules of the game, i.e. by having an illegal target, i.e. if it's an Aura spell or a targeted instant or sorcery. See the Return to Ravnica cycle: Abrupt Decay, Slaughter Games and Counterflux were targeted so had the "by spells or abilities" rider, but Supreme Verdict was untargeted and Loxodon Smiter was a creature spell so neither of them needed the extra words.
Well, they could get laced, but... seriously; does it matter? This card is "If I attack, I win" and "By the way, you are in complete lockdown". He does cost 12, sure; but "
: Win the game" would be a less frustrating ability to play against.
Does it need to say "nonland" permanent due to lands being colorless anyway.
Great simple and clean sorcery effect.
Flavour win.
This looks way to strong and should at least be a mythic and/or lose indestructible. This is basically a cheaper, better darksteel colossus.
This is a common blue Lotus Cobra.
Cool splashy mythic.
You can use "
" terminology now.
It should be "can't be countered by spells or abilities".
Usually formatted as "Whenever ~ or another creature you control with defender blocks,"
As was said earlier on Hedron-Field Abomination, Shades should have the Shade ability. Either reflavour or change flying to the shade ability.
If it makes Scions and is connected to the Hedrons, why isn't it an Eldrazi Drone?
Shouldn't this be a "Zombie Surrakar?'
Due to having Lifelink this card will give you 2 life with its triggered ability.
Thanks! Fixed. The other is now Vampiric Instinct.
Really? My instinct is "I can attack you, lose a few creatures; and you're crippled forever? CHARGE!"
Or, you know, an extra activated ability of
would keep this saner. Would still be spectacular. Personally, I'd probably err toward
, but I'm guessing the card needs to be tested to get a full understanding of what feels right.
Of note: This card makes a pretty solid defensive card, too. It's also one of those rattlesnake cards that you never need to activate the ability to seize control of a group game, since no one will attack into that. Maybe those elementals should say "This creature can't block."
This seems ridiculously powerful. Getting 16 power with haste on turn four seems to be completely broken. Maybe restrict the activation to once per turn?
You have two cards named "Thirst for Blood" in this set. Anyway this great set and interesting take on what BfZ could have been if it was more like the original Zendikar block.
