Yep, thought of him. I do want it to die at end of turn, though. I also like the idea of this being a ~/0, because it's too unstable to survive (unless it's had other magic to feed off).
I'm surprised and pleased that Storm Entity's at uncommon, though. I might be able to bring this down to uncommon.
Hmm. My initial plan was to have it as a sort of Storm creature. I wonder what the costing (and p/t) would be if it got +1/+1 for each spell played before it this turn?

Some random thoughts on where this might be going.
Evoke might be flavourfully restricted to red and black. Red because it's a fast colour, and Evoke allows impatience, and black because it allows small cost for some gain, at the expense of a creature.
Blue, and possibly White, will be averse to Evoke. Thematically, I'm not sure why yet, but it feels right.
A nice idea, but of course if you pay the Evoke cost everything will only shrink very briefly - you'll kill anything with 1 toughness, but you won't be able to use the smaller toughnesses to sorcery-burn out something larger, for instance. Or chain several of these together.
Reprint - I was going to put Evoke on it (in which case it would have read "Evoke R. 3R Flash. When ~this~ LTB it deals 2 damage to target creature or player. 2/2", but there's no need to go overboard on Evoke.
Or Spidersilk Net. But I agree 5/0 is very cute!
Mmm, so it can be kept alive, but only with the help of a Lumithread Field type effect. Nice. (Or Incandescent Soulstoke, yikes!)
Moved to uncommon, bumped to 5/0, now gets +1/+1 for each other spell (doesn't count itself)

1/1

Hmm. Good point. I was basing the stats off Ball Lightning.
4/0 sounds right. It's that or bumping it up to 1RRR, say.
Since it counts itself, strictly better than Ball Lightning. Perhaps 4/0 base stats?

The Desolation Giant ability is a fine choice for Evoke, indeed.
Changed "All other creatures get -1/-1" to "When this enters the battlefield, all other creatures get -1/-1 until end of turn."
Nice hoser. I think it works in the rules, though it'd confuse the majority of people who open it.

I'm not really tied to any rareness or cost at the moment - I just want to get the ideas down.

I may revisit this :)
