  Just stumbling about, I noticed this card. You do realize the Desert Nomad can target himself with the first ability? Seems counter intuitive... I don't know how many new players would pick up on that.

  I'm not sure what the best answer for this is. My first reaction is that the Nomad should "tap target creature you don't control", but then you can't let it build up counters if your opponent doesn't control a creature (that you can target.) And that's a bad thing? Not sure. I suppose you could instead write "tap up to one target creature"... but that seems kind of icky here.
