All good points; but thankfukly Deathpact Angel does exist to set that precedent.
I purposefully didn't give it Defender so that he couldn't attack at all. So equipping him with Explorer's Scope and a Warmonger's Chariot wouldn't do anything at all. Hes a big, butt. And I'll drop down the flavor text, if someone would like to offer up some good text that short, I'd be very grateful for that.
Aye, but it does fit flavorfully well. A knight on horseback.
I'm not sure on how the exact wording should go..so I'll wait on further input.
Changed it to gain 2 life if you have a white permanent.
Noted, and done.
Technically, there isn't much difference between "Protection from Instants and from Sorceries" and "Protection from spells." I'm sure there's a couple exceptions.
It's a tricky problem. Protection from spells looks so much more powerful. But a lot of people don't really know the difference between a spell and a permanent...
I think that protection from multiple qualities has to be worded "Protection from Quality 1 and from Quality 2." See Baneslayer Angel for reference.
It seems like a bit of an odd ability for white, but white is the color of odd protections. The only creature with a similar protection is Petrified Wood-Kin, which is green.
You could simplify this into one line of text. "When ~ ETBs or dies, you gain 2 life."
Cute, but very, very weak. I think should gain at least two life. Also:
"You gain X life. Draw a card."
Wouldn't the name sound more natural as "Serra's Intervention?"
I'm not sold on the wording of the second ability. I would think it would be "Spells and abilities your opponents control can't cause you to lose life this turn," but that might not be right.
Small white guy with trample? That's not something that happens in the modern color pie.
I would split the first line into two abilities:
"Defender
Prevent all damage that would be dealt by ~."
Also, the flavor text is probably too long, considering the length of the rules text.
It's a bit odd for tokens to have an ability like this, but there is a bit of a precedent at mythic rare with the card Deathpact Angel. Of course, if you don't have the angel tokens, you can't easily reference this card if someone can't quite remember the ability, since this shuffles into your library.
I never knew that Builder's Blessing was a functional reprint until now. It and Castle are not very good cards, so there's definitely nothing wrong with printing a better version.
As a 3/1, this probably won't be blocking very often. Also, the flavor text is far too long when added to the rules text.
Normally tokens are just race or class, and not both. There are exceptions when the types actually matter in the block.
The number of bodies this creates makes me think it should be uncommon. It is reminiscent of Trostani's Summoner.
If anyone wants to take a look through this entire set, and find anything that is subpar by a huge margine and note something on that card so I can fix it, I would appreciate it ^_^
so, just Townsfolk and Knight instead of Human X and Y?
I support the return of the Townsfolk type, and indeed a return to race-class tokens like we had in Lorwyn-Shadowmoor block.
I think 6 mana is sensible for a common that makes 5 power of tokens.
droping it down to XW, T: and making it so he can't deal damage (ever.)
Also, it doesn't have to be Human Knights and Human Townsfolk creatures. Townsfolk are actually just Humans (there are no townsfolk cards, only human tokens) and you don't need to put the subtype in, so it could just be 'a 2/2 white Knight creature token and 3 1/1 white Human creature token onto the battlefield'.
Hmm, based on how new Knight Watch is, 4/4 for 5, I think I'd be better of going to 6...good point.
Based on other similar cards already mentioned, this should cost
at least as a common.
