Curiously weak compared to Glory Seeker?
Not everything needs to be strictly better then cards that already exist. Asyean Guards may have big polearms, spears and swords but they don't have much armor. It really doesn't help against the dark creatures.
I'm certainly not saying things should be strictly better than already-existing cards, but this just seems odd. It's strictly worse in two ways than a card that never got anyone excited. I wouldn't mind a 2/1 for , but this is more colour-intensive too: it's making it hard to play it on turn 2, which is the only time you'd ever want to play it in Limited, which is the only format in which you'd ever play it.
If you really want it to be , how about adding some irrelevant "bonus"? Like gaining 2 life when it ETBs or something. (Okay, not quite that, because that'd still be worse than Lone Missionary in two ways. But something.) It can still be a bad card - a very bad card - without being strictly worse than other bad cards.
Alternatively, how about being 3/1? That'd still be worse than Accorder Paladin and Daring Skyjek in two ways, but it'd still be exciting enough to want to play in Limited.
This is more of a simple vanilla top down card designed to be a virtuous guard type. The "Asyean Guards" joined the, "Guards" to protect others they are lawful good with a slight leaning to chaotic/neutral, depending on the person. I felt that with that they should be double white, but vanilla since they really do not have any special abilities as just normal humans. The Homelands is currently on a shortage of good metals and with vampires and werewolves as enemies heavy armor doesn't matter as much as dodging - so maybe I could incorporate that in somehow fun. Here is a different version I could try.
Asyean Guard - WW
Creature - Human Warrior
Whenever ~ blocks flip a coin twice, if you win both flips prevent all damage that would be dealt to ~ by creatures it blocks this turn.
2/1
(coin flipping is fun :D)
Changed it to a single coinflip.
changed it to 3/1 uncommon
As a 3/1, this probably won't be blocking very often. Also, the flavor text is far too long when added to the rules text.
Noted and reduced.
changed from coin flip mechanic, to library reveal-scry.
