I think that being able to have the Monument go from sideboard to exile-to-be-played is fine enough for lower mana value memorials. Will and Testament didn't feel like it should cost .
voice change on second mode, "your hand" to "owner's hand" on last mode
Added the Monument subtype
So I didn't actually know what a funeral portrait was when I named this card design. I had thought it had been like a precursor to those boards with the photos people have, but funeral portraits were kept by the family. Yeah, I guess this can be a monument.
"exile a creature" to "exile a creature card"
Mary Bell is an alias. This planeswalker hides her identity and assumes a new role whenever she travels to another plane.
Dabbling in those color-pie breaks to give white draw.
That being said, I would actually prefer white to get filtering for specific cards (something like akin to Abundance, with any necessary modifications to be within white's sphere) to outright draw.
I did consider making this a rare simple due to the card draw, but I think tapping five creatures on a death trigger is enough of a hoop in white, as I don't think white is known to have sac outlets.
Thematically I'd expect this to be a Monument as well.
Wouldn't it be a "creature card" in the graveyard?
Better done as two abilities, then:
> : Remember death.
At the beginning of each end step, if ~ remembered death this turn, do stuff.
It's also extremely confusing how the current wording has two conditionals in a single sentence and the otherwise supposedly refers to only one of them (or maybe not?).
It feels like Monuments should always cost at leas to make full use of memorial, but Will and Testament exists and costs .
"died"
They'll say: "Another white card design stolen by white."
I'll have to check out the other Monuments to get what's going on here.
Shouldn't that last mode say "its owner's hand"?
Also why "That card is exiled." over "Exile that card."? You don't bothe using passive voice for the final two modes and active voice is the default.
Memento Mori is an ability cost that the permanent's controller may pay at any time they could cast an instant each turn. Paying the cost multiple times does not increase the number of times the trigger goes off.
Is Memento Mori an additional cost (i.e. kicker), an alternate cost (presumably like evoke), or what?
