This template doesn't actually fix the problem. This lets the ability trigger if there's no creatures in play, which is something I hadn't even thought about the first time, but the whole ability is still countered if the target creature is made illegal
Not sure if I have the wording right. What should happen is that when this is declared as an attacker it untaps a tapped creature, then that creature is attacking (the untapped creature will retap again from attacking unless it has vigilance).
Kinda costly to use; but "You're playing a combo deck? Well, I guess you lose then" is always a powerful effect. And hey, you can always use it to land-strip yourself, I guess?
Kind of a shame it's not really also usable as a finisher, except if you already have a big enough swarm to win anyway.
I originally costed this at , but I was worried that seemed too high. But now I think might actually be more fair. I'm a bit conflicted, as unlike Surgical Extraction and Extirpate, you need not get what you want exiled into its owner's graveyard, making this potentially much more proactive.
Was "Put target creature on top of its owner's library. If that creature had a counter on it, you may draw two cards." at and was a sorcery. It also drew two cards, if the creature had a counter on it and I reduced that to just one card. Too similar to Writer's Block. Now taps down with no untap next untap time, and instant speed. The old name was Stumble Home
I forgot to inlcude the "instead" clause at the end. You are replacing a card drawn with return the instant to your hand. If the old version could have been , I interpreted, though not necessarily correctly, that replacing the draw could be to recur and instant or sorcery from the graveyard could be .
That's nasty. Not necessarily good, but if it was good, it would be horrible. I basically strongly advise against this card existing in its current form.
I'd say "Put target instant or sorcery card from your graveyard on top of your library. Exile ~." No matter what you think about changing the wording, the exile clause shouldn't start with "Then"; that implies bad things.
Call to Mind + instant - cantrip = could cost . I'm less confident about .
Would a simple "you may" inclusion fix that? If not, what's the fix?

It's a bummer that if the creature is killed in response, you don't the land or card draw either

More Supreme Inquisitor than Extirpate/Surgical Extraction, but I believe Supreme Inquisitor's ability isn't in blue's slice any more.

The name was just me giving a generic name.

I definitely wasn't thinnking about playing this during an opponent's upkeep. The card now allows cards to be drawn during the draw step.
added "outside of their draw step"

forgot to include "instead." Removed "Then," before "Exile ~."
Followed SecretInfiltrator's wording

Were you searching for the term Trick Shot? It's not yet an official card name.
What is the drawback?
