Functional reprint of Rush of Vitality. I only changed the name because I really wanted the name "Sip From Eternity" on a black instant that granted temporary indestructibility and couldn't justify a significant variation with the same cost as Rush of Vitality.
I was about to say, the previous name made me think this was going to be a Reassembling Skeleton-style effect. Still leans that way a little, but not as much
This is pretty similar to Affectionate Indrik or Kogla, the Titan Ape, but as you say it's a punch instead of a fight ("punch" or "one-sided fight" are the nicknames I've seen it given). Kogla comes close if you manage to activate its Human-friend ability the same turn you cast it.
When does this happen? Is this meant to be an ETB trigger?
I may have misjudged this card in overestimating what green's allowance of this ability is. This ability (does it have a nickname? Can we call it punch or suckerpuch?) does not appear on creatures and seems limited to instants and sorceries. I am unsure if Magic would ever go this direction, so I will leave the card as-is with hesitation. I have no interest in this creature fighting another creature as an alternative- putting a different design in the slot would be more desirable.
Right now I am listening to "Tomboy" by Habibi. There is no relation between that information and this card design. This card does not directly relate to flavor of the set, but there is flavor behind it.
So the "When ~ ETBs", draw a card." was added because the design needed something else, and cantripping is fairly neutral. I wondered how to interpret making a colorless mana for this set, or I was trying to do something with drawn or painted art. One of the two, I don't remember. Then I remembered the following point of carnivalesque: "Profanation: in carnival, the strict rules of piety and respect for official notions of the 'sacred' are stripped of their power — blasphemy, obscenity, debasings, 'bringings down to earth', celebration rather than condemnation of the earthly and body-based." And I thought the idea of a caricature, an image twisting and making the original grotesque could be viewed as distant enough like a card having a color identity, but when viewed as a caricature, only the most-basic part, the colorless part, can participate in representation.
Of course that whole scenario is based on the idea that spells have color and doesn't make sense when adjacent or involved with the Eldrazi.

Yeah, it was supposed to be an ETB. That was my bad.

Inspired by David Attenborough

Yeah it doesn't really seem like there's much connection between flavor and mechanics on this card.
From the name, I thought this would be something like "~ ETBs as a copy of any creature on the battlefield, except it has toughness 1".
Probably can't have (potential) repeatable card draw with no downside at common, so turned draw into looting instead.
Ngl, I have no idea what the CMC for this should be.
