Oh i see now, humans have been Nyxborn before. my bad.
But i thought they fell from nyx? wouldnt that strip them of their immortality and make them mortals? so they were tossed away, but not affected at all? Seems kind of odd. Also im not sure what you are going with for the designs in these cards. Are they getting helped byt eh gods that just threw them out? Hard to get it

Life loss isn't fear, life loss is more like being hurt, well that's what life loss IS. Fear would actually be much better represented by preventing blocking. If this ere Nyxfallen Lacerator or Nyxfallen Slicer than it would be appropriate.
the idea is that it scares people. So life loss = Fear (jumpscare heart attack whatever)
strength isnt really what decided rarity. Commons are allowed to be good, and should be. It's just the subject matter that might not want to be at this rarity.
You can keep it like this if you like, but it might be sub-optimal design flavor wise. I suppose mechanically it's actually okay, just not very interesting. This also hits you and feels weird to pay for.
Might actually be cooler as a triggered ability, but that would break your cycle. Would be cooler to see something else other than lifeloss and burn on the black and red card in the cycle. Uninspired, but acceptable.
yes, but this card is basically crap, and most people wouldn't play it. Since it is 1 life for 3 mana, and i cant up rarity. I think it is just gonna stay how it is - weak.

This happens because these once were enchantment creatures. They were pets of the gods who lived in Nyx, but fell to earth and lost their magic. So it could be anything, it is human because it belonged to Heliod. Now its just a dude.

this isn't really better than Vicious Conquistador but i can tone it down. These all have to be commmon, so I can't change that.
Considering the name, maybe something about disabling blocking?
Maybe target creature with cmc or power 3 or less cant block
maybe up to two target creatures eith cmc or power 2 or less cant block?
lots to do here. Losing life might not be best placed here :D
This is significantly better than Vicious Conquistador which is an uncommon. This should be toned down and put up in rarity, but seeing as that would unsymmetricalize your cycle maybe reinvent this?
I like this, but I feel like it lacks purpose
It cant attack on its own, and the only reason you'd normally return something to your hand is to make sure it doesnt get targeted (or to enable you're Kefnet the Mindful :P :P :P)
but nobody would likely want to attack this. Maybe the ability could also be more siren-esque? Maybe gain control of target creature with cmc 3 or less ueot?
Also the name could be a bit more unique :)

Story Notes: Around this time, you might be seeing the word Nyxfallen. This is most likely going to be a 5 card common cycle. This is meant to represent the Gods throwing things out of Nyx they deem unworthy. This is due to Heliod mostly, as he is growing in power, and getting a little freaky. The five cards resemble how Heliod is beginning to fancy himself the Best God, (technically he is) and he is getting a clasp over the throat of theros. With little care, he throws magical beings into the mortal world, causing much danger. The other gods are distraught by his actions. I hope this turns out ok.
Love the card. Might need to be uncommon because it's a bit wordy.
Also the green mana symbol needs fixing :)
